Mushroom Guide: To have the best magic mushroom experience, we recommend that you plan your trip a minimum of a couple days before so you can best prepare yourself for the intense experience to come. As with any new experience, there are certain precautions one should take. The key here is that you’re aware and going into the experience with knowledge and preparation, to try to set yourself up for the most enjoyable experience possible.
Dosing: Microdose (0.05-0.25g), Mini-dose (0.25-0.75g), Museum dose (0.75-1.5g), Moderate dose (2-3.5g), and Mega dose (3.5g+): Anything above a mini-dose should provide you with a 3-6 hour trip. If you plan to try anything above a micro-dose please read our guide below.
Age of Consumption: We highly recommend users of any psychedelics be at least 24 years or older. The mind is still developing at a younger age so why jeopardize harming this process?
Health: It’s not a good idea to consume magic mushrooms if you are in a bad state of mental health. For helping with depression, we recommend micro-dosing . A bad state of mind, can be amplified in a magic mushroom trip. It is generally best to consume mushrooms only when you are in a state of overall good physical health.
Setting: We highly recommend that you do not take magic mushrooms alone for the first time. It is best to consume while in the presences of an experienced user or guide.
Find a setting that is a quiet environment with no. Being in nature or a familiar indoor space is best. NEVER take magic mushrooms out in a public place with lots of people in the area.
Take your time with your experience. The idea of having to take a bus or go to work after your trip will take a lot of beauty out of your experience. It’s best to have a few days to fully digest and reflect on what you’ve gone through. DO NOT operate motor vehicles during or immediately after your trip.
Turn off your phone! It’s best not to be disturbed or have any distractions while on a journey. You don’t want your phone ringing while your in the middle of an intense trip!
People: Do not take magic mushrooms with people you feel normally uncomfortable around as the trip will enhance these feelings and reduce the chance of having a great trip. If you are taking magic mushrooms for the first time, we recommend being with someone who has previously experienced magic mushrooms.
Desire: Don’t take magic mushrooms for the wrong reasons. They are not meant to be a recreational drug! If you do not feel comfortable and are not willing to take it through your own decision it may well have a negative effect on your trip. Take psilocybin because you want to and not because other people pressured you into doing it. When you feel scared of the potential effects, just put them away for another time when you feel ready!!!
Food and drinks: Make sure there is lots of drinking water around for everyone. Magic mushroom trips tend to dehydrate the body, so it is recommended everyone stay hydrated.
Keeping some sugary drinks nearby is also a good idea. Sugary drinks can lessen the effects of magic mushrooms. If someone feels overwhelmed during a trip, sugary drinks can potentially help.
Taking magic mushrooms on an empty stomach will have the best effects. Try and consume magic mushrooms 2 hours after your last meal. The effects will begin 20-60 minutes after consuming the magic mushrooms depending on your metabolism rate. If you do not feel the effects after 90 minutes, you may try consuming more.
Other drugs: NEVER mix magic mushrooms with other drugs.
In case of bad trip:
The chances of a bad trip are very unlikely especially if you strictly follow the rules we’ve listed above. However, it may occur to someone that did not follow. When a person is having a bad trip, you will definitely notice it! They will start reacting very anxiously, extremely paranoid or even hysterical or violent. Here’s some tips to take care of the person.
- This person may want to suddenly take off or leave the group. They may want to be left alone which is okay but do not ever let the person out of sight. Stay close by and just let them know that you’re there if they need.
- Find a quiet place this person can sit or lie down. Have them focus on taking deep calm breaths.
- Provide the person with a sugary drink. In most cases this should reduce the effects of the bad trip within a few minutes.
- Important to know, a bad trip will often last the entirety of the trip. To the person going through a bad trip it may feel like it will never end. As a supporting person let them know and convince them that this is not true and that the trip will end in time. Continue providing sugary drinks and have them breathe calmly.
- If you think that you’ve done your best as a support person but this person is becoming unmanageable you will need to get in touch with emergency services. There is no crime is admitting consumption of magic mushrooms, so be honest with the medical help and inform them of the situation.
